JKYDF is a leading environmental NGO in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh and a dedicated green J&K (green journey) towards protection, conservation and betterment of Mother Nature and Humanity. Our sole objective is to create a greener and better world for present and future generations. We are working on our various projects to nullify the environmental imbalance caused by us and our society at large.
we believe as a responsible human being, it is our duty to payback the society by our good deeds. Green is our vision, symbol, identity, an attribute with which we feel connected to the society.
We all have it within us to help other in need but sometimes we became skeptical about how we can contribute. Either we are not able to find the courage to get up and bring the change or we feel that organization is not trustworthy. The same dilemma pushed us to open a volunteer-based organization, Green J&K, where volunteers are encouraged to spend their free time into something meaningful. And always remember “Change starts with you” and no help is small in this big world
Our approach is people-friendly and our response is local-supportive. We work on the causes which are close to our heart and need attention in bringing the required change. “GREEN J&K” This is a project by JKYDF, with the goal of increasing tree plantation in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh . The Project Green J&K aims to plant and grow up to 500,000 trees across Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
Let’s make this world a bit moregreener than how we found it.
‘AN POSHI TELI YELI WAN POSHI’ – NUND RISHI
Food will thrive only Till the woods survive
an poshi teli
(food/sustenance suffices then)
yeli wan poshi
(when forests/trees suffice)
Sheikh Noor-ud-din Wali (also known as Nund Rishi) was not only a supreme spiritual poet, but he also was a visionary with profound insights about the environment he lived in. To imagine someone thinking about conserving the environment in the lush, verdant landscape of 15th century Kashmir – when the bounty of nature would have seemed limitless and inexhaustible – is quite difficult indeed.
